This is the question I have been asking myself lately. Usually I am not a touchy feely blogger, but today I am going to lay it out there. I haven't been posting much lately and think the reason is I have been doubting myself! Why blog, who reads it, does it really matter.......and the list goes on. I have a lot going on in my life, so its not that I don't have anything to write about. Maybe I think other people do a better job writing and advocating and crafting and sharing their stories.
Do any of you ever get caught up in the stats page on blogger? I was looking at that and it didn't help out with my motivation to write, my stats have dwindled and so has the desire to keep blogging. I don't want to quit, I really enjoy the "friendships" I have developed through blogging. I keep telling myself, blog for those who are my real friends and social media friends that follow me and don't worry about the rest. I have read a few other bloggers and their advice on blogs is to write what you want, focus on the audience you want, and don't worry so much!
Maybe I haven't been cultivating my blogging relationships: not commenting on others posts and supporting them, reading theirs, and promoting others. So there is another challenge I am going to be working on more!
So hang in there with me and hopefully this is just a blue funk I am in!
I've had the same thoughts from time to time! But I stick with it, if anything, for memories and the fact that I fail at scrapbooking! Haha!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the support Jennifer! I think you do an awesome job blogging and your children will love it in years to come.
DeleteI agree with Jennifer! I do it for my family and future little ones...they may not have any interest in what I have to say now but someday I'd like to leave them wiht something and scrapbooking is very much not an option, my craftiness ends at stamping a stamp on a letter
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda! I think what you post is great, the little day to day things we forget will be cherished in years to come.
DeleteI have been in the same boat before where I hit lulls and question what I am doing with my blog. I say just keep writing and write about stuff you love. Sometimes I think my blog is more for my benefit than others...I enjoy writing and expressing myself that way. I have decided that stats are not to big of a deal to me...I would rather have a few readers that actually love what I am writing then lots who don't care either way! :o) Also I read your blog and very much enjoy it girl!
ReplyDeleteI probably agree with you about how blogging is more for my benefit than others. Thanks for the words of encouragement. Quality of followers rather than Quantity!
DeleteYep, we all hit this point at times, I'm pretty sure. But, keep on trucking! I like blogging for the memories, mostly, but I enjoy it when folks read and comment.
ReplyDeleteI will keep truckin!
DeleteI completely understand! I have been a Terrible Blog friend and blogger lately. Time has been a factor for me and the fact I think I have nothing to talk about ;)
ReplyDeleteI DO enjoy your blog as well as many others, I love reading/receiving comments and need to do better about leaving them. Hang in there...I'm still a faithful follower...of sorts!
lol
We all have our moments, and blogging isn't (nor do I think it should be) #1 in our lives. We all have so much going on, and yes, I think you have plenty to talk about. Speaking of that, will you be heading to Yates Center anytime soon for a sheep sale?
DeleteLor - I love reading your blog! It's funny you should post this, several people have been suggesting I start a blog lately and although I would love to share some weight loss tips and struggles, I too wonder if anyone would read it and if it would be weird "putting it all out there"!
ReplyDeleteLike losing weight, you must stick with it - you have followers, even if I don't always comment! Blog and share, I will keep reading, I PROMISE!
G. Brew- I had no idea you followed me-what a great suprise! Well if you don't want to start a blog right now, I would love for you to guest post!?
DeleteYou are awesome!
Keep 'em coming, Lori!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kels, will do!
