Theme Thursday: Easter Tree

A few months back I mentioned there was a tree in my county that is decorated monthly with a theme. This month of course is Easter.

I met the "owner" and decorator this past Friday. I was with a community member headed to visit a local dairy and she said,"Right up there on the left is the dairy."  I exclaimed, "The one by the Theme Tree!?!"
"Yep, that's the place,"  she said with a chuckle. When I met the decorator, I told her to keep it up and how I enjoyed the changing themes!

Theme Thursday: THE Theme Tree

There is a tree in my "new" county. I noticed it one time as I drove by and then when I went by again it was different, I don't travel this road too often so call me slow....but I realize they change it every month with a coordinating theme. This was August. Gotta take a drive soon and check out this months.

Farm Baby Lotion~Fun Find

I love themes, I love agriculture....so when I find something that combines the two...I get pretty excited.
I was shopping in a fun store in Iola, KS called The Classy Attic and stumbled upon this:
How stinkin cute is this?! Farm Baby lotion! The company is Sweet Grass Farm. I think for the next Farm Themed Baby Shower this might be a necessity.

Tropical Beverage-Lava Flow

Another recipe from my Survivor Party. This stuff is AMAZING!

46 oz pineapple juice
40 oz coco lopez-cream of coconut
1 pint half and half
ice
frozen strawberries in syrup
2 tablespoons water
clear cups
straws

It's one part pineapple juice to one part coco lopez (cream of coconut, it's in a can.) Usually it takes about three cans of coco lopez to one big can of pineapple juice. Then you add half and half until it turns white. So I'd say about 1 pint of half and half. In a separate bowl puree strawberries, sugar and water. Or you can puree frozen strawberries in syrup with a little water that seems to work a little better. You want it to be somewhat thick, almost like a syrup texture. Pour strawberries in the cup about an half an inch to an inch high. Put ice in your blender and pour the coconut mix in unitl it's at an even height with the ice. Blend, then pour in the cup with strawberry mix. The strawberries should come up the sides of the cup. If it doesn't, either thin out your strawberries a little bit, or before pouring the coconut take the cup and swish the strawberries around so they stick on the sides of the cup.

Country Wedding Ideas

I wanted to share a few cute ideas for a country wedding.  This was at my good friend Casie's.
I think that this arrangement would be great for any event or home decor. The pheasant feathers are a unique and beautiful touch.

At the American Agri-Women Conference there was a presidents reception for our outgoing president that is from Kansas. My mom and all her genius event planning wisdom, executed beautiful and fun decorations to, "Welcome Chris Home"

Hopefully, you gather some inspiration.

AAW uses Rosie the Riveter for many promos. So we were super excited when we ran onto this at a thrift store!

We had been gathering red shoes for a year. Oh, the ones you can find at thrift stores!

Farm Theme Baby Shower

I hosted, along with another gal a Farm Themed Baby Shower. This was for a good friend of mine from college. Anna, is a country girl and so a farm theme was a given. Anna and her husband decided not to find out the sex of the baby so they decorated the nursery in primary colors. I really enjoyed hosting this shower, and  think it turned out pretty well.
