How: We met in college, we were in the same women in ag club. She introduced me to a boy, stuck by me through breakups, she became part of our family at the holiday, and asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. All in all....a great friend.

Who:  Me, yes I am self promoting :) I was wanting to mix it up a bit and have had a few people say they aren't able to participate in my #JingleBellsMyFriendSells this year, so I am "scrambling" for a few more features.

What: Handmade jewelry, custom sewing, homemade signs, etc

How: My family is pretty talented and has always been "crafty" so I started making items as gift, which lead to custom orders, which had me set up a Facebook page. So here we are!

I'm BACK! While it may be just for the Holidays, but I am at least back. My enthusiasm for blogging had faded and a full time job consumed my time. Then the holidays hit, I wanted to shop local, I wanted to spread goodness, happiness, and hope. This idea came to me. It had been on my heart and mind for years. Well I decided to quit waiting and make that leap.

This year, starting on Black Friday, I am kicking off Jingle Bells, My Friend Sells . #JingleBellsMyFriendSells  It will be a shop local promotion. I have awesome friends and quality connections I want to share with you.

Haying in the Hay Capital

Its a busy time in Kansas, the county fairs are winding down and we are getting geared up for the State Fair! AND its Haying Season, brome, alfalfa, prairie and more.

What better way to see a glimpse of haying than that which is taking place in "The Hay Capital of the World!" Yes, that is a place and no its not a made up title. Learn a little more about The Hay Capital from my previous blog post here.

To learn more about native/prairie hay and its nutritional value, check out this handy publication from University of Missouri Extension. While the publication can be a little technical at times it is great at describing how to make great hay!
